How to reach Rome

ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME

Rome has to major airports: Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport and Ciampino airport. Fiumicino is the main and bigger airport, quite far from the city centre. Ciampino is smaller and a bit closer to the city centre.

From Fiumicino airport to Rome city centre

Cheapest way to reach the city centre: from the railway station there are 2 line whom bring to Rome city centre:

1. Express Train directly to Termini is available every 30 minutes, the tickets costs 15 euro, runs from 6.38am to 11.38pm. It takes approx 30 minutes.

Tickets can be bought on the Italian railways company official websit http://www.trenitalia.com, or at the Trenitalia ticket desks near the train, station machines (credit card only), travel agencies, authorized sales points.

2. Metropolitan service train connects with many stations in Rome (ie.: Trastevere, Ostiense, Tuscolana, Tiburtina), is available every 30 minutes, the tickets costs 8 euro, runs from 5.58 am to 11.58pm.

There are many taxis outside the airport, always be caution of people whom propose to drive you to Rome, taxi are outside and the drivers do not approach the clients inside the airport.

From Ciampino airport to Rome city centre

There is not a railway station in Ciampino airport, therefore the better way to get to Rome is by private bus, there are many companies operating (ie: www.terravision.eu, www.shiaffini.com)
