Shore Excursion Civitavecchia to Rome
When you disembark at the Cruise Port of Civitavecchia you are still far from Rome. It takes 45 min to get to the Eternal City by car, bus or train. If you choose to get the train, our guide will meet you on your platform at Termini Station in Rome.
If you prefer arranging a private transfer our driver will pick you up in Civitavecchia on the dock with his new car/van. You will drive along the Etruscan coastline passing by the towns of S. Marinella and S. Severa and you will meet the guide at the Colosseum.
Without having to stand in the long entrance lines, she will take you straight inside the ancient amphiteatre. She is a professional licensed tour guide and will make the ruins come alive! Then you will reach the Forum, the central square of Ancient Rome.
You will see the Senate House, the Temple of JUlius Caesar, the Emperors' Palace, the Temple of Saturn, and you will reach the Capitol Hill. From here you will enjoy a lovely view of the entire city.
Your tour continues to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Navona Square, Piazza Venezia and the Vittoriano, Italy's largest marble monument. You can decide to have lunch wherever, but our guide will suggest some great options that best fit your needs.
In the afternoon you will visit the Vatican City, the smallest country in the whole world. However, you will not need to show your passport..you will see the Sistine Chapel, the Basilica of St. Peter, the museums, the rooms of Raphael and much more.
Our driver will wait outside St. Peter's square to take you back to the ship before boarding time. It is a great excursion to see the highlights of Rome in only one day.
